Siobhan Fitzpatrick Austin (Playwright) Siobhan is excited to debut "REHAB" at the Producers' Club in NYC, and she's incredibly grateful both for her amazingly talented director, Lola Lopez Guardone, and her cast: Sean Finnegan, Rew Starr, Danny Houk, Jorden Mullings, Cassie Nadeau, Gail Payne, Christopher Pio and Tony Triano.
Other plays Siobhan has written include "Waking Kya," the story of an African refugee woman, that has been produced at numerous venues throughout the country, including Symphony Space in Manhattan and Northwestern University, and was chosen to be included in Manhattan Repertoire Theatre's 2011 Fall Fest.
Siobhan is an activist and founder of SistersGeographic (SG), a 501c3 nonprofit with a global mission to lend a voice to the marginalized in society, and to raise awareness about women's and girls' issues, particularly in developing countries, through education, the arts, and interviews with amazing women. SG also provides information about organizations dedicated to helping women and children in need, and how to support them. SistersGeographic is producing “REHAB” through its performing arts “arm” SistersInAction.
Siobhan earned her M.S. from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and her B.A. from the University of Virginia. She has extensive experience as a freelance journalist and has written on numerous subjects, including health, women's issues, business, fashion, spirituality, profiles, home décor, and personal essays. Some of the publications she has written for include Women's Wear Daily - Paris, Speak, Good Housekeeping, Natural Health, Romantic Homes, ELLE Magazine, The Women's Times, The Southampton Press, Indian River Magazine and The Vero Beach Newsweekly.
Siobhan is co-author of "Frommer's Paris From $80 A Day, 2002," and author of "Pilgrimage: A spiritual journey from Barcelona to Chang Mai As Seen Through a Lens and Poetry" (SG 2014). Her poetry has also been featured in the anthology, "Fuse Week Up and Coming Poets" (Rattapallax 2004).
Siobhan would like to give special thanks to her good friends, Pamela Brooks Warwick and Katherine Wessling, who read early stages of “Rehab” and gave valuable feedback, and also her friend Susan Hawkins, who provided key advice. She also thanks her nephew, Brendan McGlone, who designed the beautiful "Rehab" flyer. In addition, Siobhan is very grateful for the support she's received from her husband, Bob, and her kitty cat, Comet, in addition to her mom, Connie. www.SiobhanFitzpatrick.com
